How It Works in Chicago

We began with a simple mission: to create access to healthy, affordable food for all. In the time of social distancing, we have adapted our community pick up model. Now, we deliver your orders of fresh produce and delicious meats, poultry, and fish to your home - for no additional fee.

We serve the Cook County/Chicago community on the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month.

All orders must be placed by the Tuesday before delivery weekend at 12:00 PM CST.

We offer healthy and affordable fresh fruits and vegetables, proteins, and local and holiday specials for all.

How it Works in Chicago/Cook County

Top Box Foods shops all month to find you the best deals on healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables and frozen meats, poultry, and fish. Our goal is to create access to healthy foods in all communities.

We then bundle the food in boxes and partner with community organizations, religious organizations, healthcare providers, housing facilities, and schools to help spread the word about these healthy and affordable foods.

You place your order online or over the phone and your fresh produce and delicious meats will be delivered directly to your home - at no additional fee. 

Because we keep our costs low, we're able to give 5% of sales back to our Community Partners. Each box you buy is an investment in your health and an investment in your community.

  • Top Box Foods Chicago currently serves customers in the Chicagoland/Cook County, IL area.   • There are two ways customers can place an order for a box. It's simple:

    1. Click here to visit our store OR
    2. Give us a call at (312) 527-7890 *200
  • You can order anytime! But please place your order no later than the monthly deadline: the Tuesday before the delivery weekend at 12:00pm. In Chicagoland, we deliver the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, for a list of the next delivery dates, times, and locations, visit our How It Works page here.

  • We make it easy for you to pay for your boxes! There are a variety of ways to pay for your order:

    1. At Checkout on our website, you can pay for your order via Paypal or using your Credit/Debit card.

    2. Call to Pay: If you're not ready to pay at the time of Checkout, please give us a call at 312-527-7890 *200 to process your Debit/Credit card payment over the phone at your convenience. 

    3. SNAP: If you are paying with a Link card, chose "SNAP/LINK (pay at delivery)" at checkout. Your payment will be processed in-person on delivery day. We will call you to confirm your order and provide you with your estimated delivery window two days before your delivery, so you can be ready to pay when your order is delivered.

    If you have not paid the week of delivery, a TBF Representative will give you a call to process your payment or confirm delivery day payment. Please keep in mind that if you are paying via Debit/Credit card and you do not pay before your delivery date, your order will be cancelled. 

  • Yes! Top Box Foods accepts SNAP benefits via Link Cards as payment for orders. Simply chose "SNAP/LINK (pay at delivery)" when you checkout. Your Link payment will be processed in-person on delivery day.

    A TBF Customer Service Representative will reach out to you to to confirm your order and provide you with an estimated delivery window for your delivery day. Please be ready on delivery day to pay for your order with your Link card when your delivery driver has arrived.

Receiving Your Order

  • When you place your order, you will select a delivery location. For a list of our convenient locations, click here. The week before we deliver to your neighborhood, we'll even call you to remind you when and where to pick up! On delivery days, simply come to your location at the designated time. 

  • Our no-fee home deliveries are effortless and contactless, so you can get your food easily while staying safe at home.

    At check out: choose which day you want your food to arrive. If you would like to place an order for both dates, please place two separate orders - one for each date.

    Day before your delivery: we'll send you a reminder email with an Estimated Delivery Window, so you know when to expect your food.

    Delivery Day: Our volunteer delivery driver will call or text you when they are on the way, to let you know when they will arrive. Please be on the lookout for a call from your delivery driver during your Estimated Delivery Window. When the driver reaches your home, they will bring your order to the front door, step back to maintain social distancing, and call you to let you know that your order has arrived. You can retrieve your order from your front door to bring it inside. For the health and safety of our customers and our drivers, drivers have been instructed to bring your order to the front door of your home or building - drivers will not enter your home.*


    *If you are shopping with your Link card, payment will be processed in-person on Delivery Day. The Top Box Foods customer service team will call you to confirm your Delivery Day and Estimated Delivery Window to ensure that you will be home.

  • If you are unable to be home to receive your order, please let us know as early as possible so we can work with you to get you your food. Give us a call at (312) 527-7890 *200 and our excellent Customer Service team will help you find a solution.

    We provide each customer with a phone call and email to communicate your estimated delivery time, so you'll know when to expect your food's arrival. On Delivery Day, your delivery driver will call or text you when they are on the way, and again when they have arrived with your order. If your driver arrives at your home to deliver your order and is unable to reach you via phone call, text, knock, or doorbell, they will leave your order for you.

    We do everything we can to communicate in advance, so you know what to expect for an easy delivery day. If you anticipate any scheduling or delivery issues, please call us at (312) 527-7890 *200 and our excellent Customer Service team will help you.

  • Top Box Foods delivery drivers follow our Social Distancing Protocol, which is designed for the health and safety of our customers and our drivers by reducing close-contact air exposure.

    To maintain safe distances, there will be no direct hand off of the groceries. Delivery drivers will bring the products to the front door and notify you of your food's arrival. The driver will step back to maintain distance, while you come to your front door to pick up your food. Drivers will not be able to enter any apartment buildings or homes.

  • We deliver in Cook County/Chicago on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.*

    Our No-Fee Home Deliveries are free, meaning you only pay for the food and you will not have to pay any delivery fees! All deliveries take place between 9:00am-5:00pm on Delivery Day.

    *In November and December, our deliveries will be on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of the month to accommodate more households during the holiday season.

  • You can expect the offerings in some of our boxes to change every few months because we are always looking for the best deals. We work hard to make sure that we have the foods you love every month, as well as new items to add variety. Each month we offer a special box of great value and limited supply, click here to see the special this month! However, in order to keep costs low and your savings high, individual content changes cannot be made to any of the boxes.

  • Top Box Foods takes pride in our high-quality, affordable boxes of food. We hope that every Top Box Foods customer is fully satisfied with our products.     • All issues and concerns regarding recently delivered food must be received by Top Box Foods no later than 5pm the Monday following delivery.
    • If there's a problem with the quality of your order, Top Box Foods gives full credit towards a future order on all affected products.
    • On Order Fulfillment Issues, Top Box Foods provides credit/debit, check, LINK, and credit (Top Bucks) refunds.
    • Top Box Foods reserves the right to review all cases independently.

About SNAP, EBT, and Link

  • Link Match is a program designed to increase access to healthy foods by doubling your Link dollars and making fresh fruits and vegetables more affordable.

    When you shop with your Link Card, the dollars you spend are matched up to $15 per order. That Link Match Money can be redeemed for free fruits and vegetables!

    At checkout, you choose if you'd like to either:

    • Add On: Get your free box of fresh fruits and vegetables on delivery day with your current order


    • Save For Later: On delivery day when you receive your current order, you'll get a physical card (called a Healthy Ways Card) with your Link Match Money loaded on. You can spend the money on your Healthy Ways Card for a future order of fresh fruits and vegetables


    Either way, you get the order you've placed and pay with your Link Card as usual, plus a bonus! You just choose if you'd like your free fruits and vegetables now or later.

    Note: Link Match Money can only be used for purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. Eligible boxes are: Fruit Box, Vegetable Box, Produce Variety Combo, or Personal Produce Essentials.
